YANA-Sofiq Terminal Serves Part of the Intermodal Traffic between Western Europe and Turkey

28 February 2012

As a result of the flooding of the main railway line to Istanbul in Bulgaria on the Harmalni-Svilengrad stretch and its temporary inaccessibility, Yana-Sofia Terminal began servicing as of last week part of the intermodal traffic from Western Europe to Turkey.

Once again Ecologistics, the Terminal Operator, had proven itself as a viable solution for cases of increased bottlenecks and natural disasters and as a back-up to its neighboring markets.

This is a prelude to several regular shuttle container trains being in the pipeline from various destinations to Yana-Sofia, intended to serve the Bulgarian market.
